The Jinji Lake Scenic Area and Yangcheng Lake Peninsula Tourist Resort in SIP recorded 916,300 tourist arrivals during the Chinese Qingming Festival holiday that lasted from Apr 4 to 6, up 14.46% year-on-year. The 10 major hotels in these areas reported operating incomes of about RMB10 million during this period.

The SUZHOUEYE Ferris wheel, which opened shortly before the festival, served 13,200 riders during the holiday under the circumstance that a daily capacity limit of 5,000 people was implemented.

The Jinji Lake Music Fountain, which stages splendid water and light shows at night, attracted about 25,000 people on Apr 5.

Statistics also show that 11,000 people visited the Taohua Island, a peach flower-themed island located in the center of Jinji Lake.

The piers around Jinji Lake received lots of people who enjoyed wonderful boat tours on the lake. The newly operationalized catamarans and the free water bus service received high comments.

Other destinations such as Chongyuan Temple, HB World and the Archaeological Site Park of Caoxieshan and other parks were full of flower lovers who were amazed by the stunning “rain of cherry blossoms” or the spectacular displays of flowers of varied, brilliant colors.

Apart from that, lakeside cycling and camping were among the most popular recreational activities during the holiday.
