The Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) China 2025 attracted over 100 artists from around the world and nearly 60,000 fans to SIP last weekend. The dazzling stages, amazing fireworks and immersive music experiences have made SIP’s multifaceted urban vibrancy better-known to the world.
Embracing openness and diversity, SIP has won increasing reputation internationally as an ideal place for hosting large-scale international cultural, art and tourist events.
The Suzhou Jinji Lake Biennale, initiated in SIP in 2012, has attracted more than 1,600 Chinese and foreign artists with over 7,000 art works. The 2023 exhibition was visited by over 10 million people within 70 days, and videos of the event were viewed more than 1.1 million times on WeChat and TikTok platforms.
The Montreux Jazz Festival, which was first held in Switzerland in 1967, made its debut in SIP last October. During three days, over 20 performances were given on three stages by 100-plus musicians from around the globe.
SIP also hosted a series of events to mark the 30th anniversary of its establishment last year, including the concert given by Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) in March, the “Experience Singapore Week in Suzhou - Singapore Shiok Lah” in June and the exhibition titled “Artistic Splendour: Thirty Years of Contemporary Art from China and Singapore” in August.
