Statistics show that 10 major shopping malls and the likes recorded sales of RMB520 million and a total customer footfall of more than 4 million during the eight-day Chinese Spring Festival holiday.

This achievement should be attributed to a diversity of festival events including the 6th Suzhou Spring Festival Fair and the festival fairs at Jiuguang Department Store, Suzhou Center Mall and other shopping malls and those at a number of supermarkets.

Shin Kong Place, for example, hosted a series of events including a lion dance show, a lucky draw and DIY activities which attracted lots of people.

Many restaurants in SIP provided special meals on the Chinese New Year’s Eve as well as creative dishes for the festival. Tens of restaurants at Ligongdi Cultural and Creative Block and old Xietang Street offered special set meals with a discount of up to 60% during the festival.

Moreover, diverse events were held at Star Mall, Suzhou Eslite Bookstore and other places for visitors to SIP to experience folk customs and local culture.

The live streams of over 10 hotels, including Jinji Lake Grand Hotel and Crowne Plaza Suzhou, attracted tourists from around the country, who spent about RMB10 million in total in SIP during the holiday.
