“More and more overseas students are flocking into SIP. The Suzhou Industrial Park One-stop Service Centre for Expats offers considerate services to all the foreign students and teachers,” said Prof. Stuart Perrin at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) in SIP.

Stuart, who has lived in SIP for more than 12 years, said SIP is his “second hometown”. He has been deeply impressed by the fast-developing industries, abundant education resources, amazing scenery and convenience for both living and working in the industrial park.

There are often diverse events in SIP for expats to gain a better understanding of Chinese culture and get used to the local life. In XJTLU, for example, an event held last summer allowed over 30 foreign students to learn about traditional Chinese architectural techniques and culture.

The Suzhou Industrial Park One-stop Service Centre for Expats, established in 2021, aims to serve as a bridge between international talents and SIP. So far, it has wrapped up more than 50,000 cases under 70 services concerning foreign affairs, and organized 80-plus events for cultural exchanges, policy interpretation and other purposes.
