Goran Martinovic, former member of the Croatian national boxing team who is running a boxing club in SIP, recently met with Qi Qianjin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Croatia, when he led a team from the Black Tie Boxing Academy he founded to participate in a competition in Croatia. Goran presented a special stamp designed for SIP’s 30th anniversary to the ambassador, and shared with the latter his opinions for exchanges and cooperation between China and Croatia in sports and culture.

Goran moved to SIP in 2015 to help his brother Marko set up the Suzhou Showdown white collar boxing events, and opened his boxing club later to offer training programs for participants of the next Showdown and any other people who want to take boxing as a way to keep fit.

The Black Tie Boxing Academy has a team of coaches with rich experience in international events. It provides boxing classes to people aged from 4 to 65, and also brokerage services to those who want to become professional athletes, including career planning, diet design, rehabilitation and assistance in participating in various events.

During the Spring Festival holiday, Ding Wen and Fang Yufei, two young boxers from the Black Tie Boxing Academy, demonstrated excellent performance in the international open boxing championship in Croatia.

Moreover, the Black Tie Boxing Academy was authorized by the Croatian Boxing Council to provide services for members of Chinese boxing clubs to gain entry to international boxing events.
