A pair of barrier-free elevators have come into service recently at the pedestrian bridge near Xinsu Building in SIP to carry people up to the bridge. This provides great convenience for the elderly.
Earlier, the pedestrian bridge and another one on the north of Loumen Road were reopened to traffic after a renovation project carried out by Loufeng Sub-district as part of the urban renewal project along the Suzhou East Ring Road. The renovation has made these bridges safer, more beautiful, and more convenient.
For the pedestrian bridge near Xinsu Building, the pavement and handrails have been renovated, and 18 flower boxes and a 2,120-square-meter canopy were added. Moreover, the lighting system consisting of hundreds of lamps along the stairs and other key parts make the bridge look charming at night.
