The Suzhou Freight Station of Shanghai Airports formally came into service in the comprehensive bonded area in SIP on Apr 7 to provide air freight services for exporters.
As the country’s first trans-provincial, cross-customs-district air freight station, this freight station can help cut logistics duration by 12 to 24 hours and reduce cost by 10%-30% in comparison with conventional logistics modes.

The freight station is a joint establishment by SIP, Suzhou Port & Shipping Investment and Development Group, Shanghai Airport (Group) Co Ltd and China Eastern Airlines. With a planned area of about 2,700 square meters, it provides a set of services for cargoes from the surrounding areas to go through security and customs inspections before being exported through airports in Shanghai.
The freight station has handled 44 batches of cargoes including integrated circuits, biological medicine (cold chain), medical devices and auto parts and components since it came to trial operation last November.
