On Apr 17, the Administrative Committee of Suzhou Dushu Lake Sci-Edu Innovation District held a conference that combined the regular meeting on grid-based business services and an introduction to the implementation of the “AI Plus” initiative in Suzhou. The event was aimed at optimizing services for businesses and fueling development in the AI sector.

Among the participants were people from authorities of the district and those from a number of state-owned and private enterprises running industrial parks and the likes in the district.

In the first part of the event, Zhu Jia, strategic advisor and researcher at Suzhou Artificial Intelligence Industry Association, gave the participants a talk on the country’s “AI Plus” initiative which is aimed at promoting the integration of deep artificial intelligence (AI) in various sectors, and its implementation in Suzhou, covering related practices, support policies and studies. Zhu also gave the participants an analysis of the latest dynamics of AI technology and its application in various sectors.

Following that was the regular meeting on business services under the grid-based work mechanism. Under this mechanism, the district has been divided into a number of grids, each with designated personnel in charge of keeping contact with the businesses in the grid and helping fulfill their needs.

The participants discussed solutions for challenges in operation of industrial parks and similar projects and ways of improving local authorities’ support for operators of these projects.
