In 1994, Chinese and Singaporean governments signed an agreement to pioneer in joining the efforts of two countries to create an industrial park. Over the past three decades, based on consistently strengthened collaboration with a number of iconic enterprises and other organizations of Singapore, SIP has transformed into a modern industrial park boasting integrated industrial, urban and cultural development.
SIP is now home to over 400 Singaporean businesses, with the actual use of investments from Singapore exceeding US$4.9 billion. Meanwhile, a number of Chinese enterprises in SIP are going global through the “international corridor” created under China-Singapore cooperation.
In recent years, the cooperation with Singaporean partners has been expanded to more fields such as joint innovation, green development, digital economy and modern services.
The China-Singapore Green Digital Hub is being built to create a zero-carbon, intelligent industrial park in SIP based on green architecture solutions introduced from Singapore.
For digital economy, cooperation has been carried out to facilitate cross-border data flow and mutual digital identity recognition.
At the recent China-Singapore Investment Forum, 26 projects were signed, including both projects invested in Singapore by SIP-based Chinese enterprises and those invested in SIP by Singaporean enterprises.
